Garden 12 in Altadena

This five-year-old, nearly 5,000 sq. ft. cottage-style front yard uses an all-native mix of annuals and perennials to create a colorful haven for birds and butterflies. The driveway, patio, and path were built from reclaimed materials. Rainwater flows off the roof and into a rocky streambed and dry pond. The recently revamped back yard includes native flora, a second dry creek for even more rainwater capture, a new deck, and raised vegetable beds. Design: Haynes Landscape Design.
